The Florida Black Dance Artist Organization (FBDAO) is a collective of educators, performers, choreographers, scholars, and presenters representing the African Diaspora. Through our shared experiences with micro/macro aggressions, systemic racism, oppression, silencing, censorship, and exclusionary stratagem in the field of dance, this collective is committed to addressing these abhorrent crimes against our mental, emotional, psychological, and physical being. This organization is intentional in its mission which is focused on calling out/in individuals, organizations, companies, boards, and institutions engaging in racist practices. This is a state organization addressing the needs of Black and Brown Floridians in the dance community.
